Our client first approached us with a design brief to create a family kitchen and dining space that would fit seamlessly within this impressive 18th-century vicarage and not be dominated by its surroundings. On the first visit, the height of the room and doors to the garden meant that the scale and proportion of the furniture in relation to the size of the room were very important. The in-frame shaker in a classic colour palette compliments the original paneled shutters with the Calacatta Gold Silestone by Cosentino worksurfaces and splash back panel providing a sharp clean contrast to the furniture, especially on the large slate coloured island. The dresser creates a separate breakfast area and houses a coffee machine and toaster with a built in microwave and motion sensitive lighting that is activated when the bi-fold doors are opened. The existing floor boards were stripped and stained to allow the furniture to take centre stage!
